I'm using dd-wrt.v24-16773_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega Eko on a asus rt-n16 and repeater and vssid works, this is the only build I have found to work. make sure you set the "Wireless Network Mode" to match that of what you are repeating, and if you are using MAC clone make sure to set the security mode of the vssid to match the repeated AP.
