Dec 15, 2013 · Just installed the latest Esxi (4 I believe). What is the default login and password? I tried "root" with no password at the web interface. I then went back to the server and manually entered a password. Again at the web interface I tried root with the password I just gave it. Still didnt work.

And yes, I'm positive that I did not change the root password using VAMI or otherwise. Click on the Create password button after which you can try to log into VMware infrastructure web access again, now using these new credentials. It should work. On Windows XP, the Administrator account is enable by default, so you only will need to setup a password for it.
